[New rules for 2025!!  Please read entire event post!]

Thanks for the interest in joining us for our next Pub Crawl Meet & Greet!  We greatly appreciate you volunteering for this event, and helping keep the Greenville Swap Rabbits the sexy, elite group that we all adore.  Our Meet & Greet process has been incredibly successful in keeping our group filled with the best local lifestyle couples thanks to our member’s feedback at these events.

Our Pub Crawl Meet & Greets are set up to have 10 potential new member couples come meet 10 of our existing member couples in an afternoon event that is an amazingly fun time.  We’ll pair off into teams of two couples, and each team will head to one of five spots.  Our teams will get a table for eight people, and then the potential new couples will rotate through the spots meeting the two member couples at each location.  You’ll be meeting two new couples during each 30-minute rotation, and have a 15-minute break in between.

The event is set up so that you get to spend 30 minutes with each potential new couple and then have a brief break in between to collect your thoughts about the couple and cast your vote.

RSVP’ing as a member for this event:

It has always been our goal to ensure that everyone in our group feels they have input into the new member selection process, and because of that, attendance at our Meet & Greet events is tightly organized.  To sign up for this event, please read the following and then use the booking form at the bottom of the page:

  1. Check your calendar to make sure you can attend the M&G, and register below for one of the spots.  (M&G’s are and will remain a free event for our GSR members.)  Please make sure you can attend, at a minimum, for the duration of the pub crawl before registering.  Your registration will be confirmed as quickly as I can get to it.

  2. We will register 15 GSR member couples for the event.  As people register, we’ll sort them as quickly as possible into the following categories:

    • M&G Board Members – 10 Couples – These are the ten couples that are needed to be at the M&G event.  Five teams of two couples each, at each of the five locations.  This group is required to show up at the start of the event to collect their ballot and for any special announcements pertaining to the event.  You guys are it.  Just like showing up for election day, your vote matters and we are counting on the 10 of you to be at the M&G to screen all the new couples we have coming.  As in the past with these ten couples, on rare occasions we may ask some people that have been to many M&G’s to politely step aside so that a less experienced member has a chance to come provide their input to the group and curate new couples.  In an ideal world, we like to have one veteran member couple and one newer member couple at each spot.  We think it’s good to have both perspectives for the potential new couples that are looking to join the group.  The fresh couple that can talk about how the admissions process went and what they found after they got into the group, as well as the experienced couple that can speak to all the amazingly fun parties, trips, and events we’ve had over the years.

    • M&G Alternates – 3 Couples – These three couples are the backups for any of the 10 above.  We will typically try to fill the ten M&G Board Member spots before putting anyone as an alternate, but depending on the experience mix, we may shuffle some Board Members into the M&G Alternate group or vice versa.  For Alternates, we politely ask that you maintain the flexibility in your schedule to be able to cover for one of the M&G Board Members, should anything happen.  These three couples are expressly invited to come join us for the Afterparty where you can hang out with the rest of the M&G Board Members, as well as the favorite newbies from the M&G.  Again, if you are an Alternate, make sure you keep your schedule clear during the early portion of the event to be a GSR Board Member if needed.  While we hope our Board Members above are able to attend as planned, if something happens, we need you to be able to drop in, possibly on short notice.

    • M&G Wait-listed – 2 Couples – Backups for the backups.  These couples are our last ditch fill-ins if something improbable happens, but may also be asked to attend the next event instead if all the spots remain filled.  If you are Wait-listed for the M&G, we sincerely thank you for volunteering, and although we won’t be seeing you the day of the event, we will absolutely guarantee you a M&G Board Member spot at the next M&G of your choosing.

The plan is to fill up these three groups in the order as people sign up, so register early if you want to help ensure that you get a spot.

Cancellation:

You can now self-cancel your registration on your own on the event page up until three weeks before the event.  At three weeks prior, we will lock in people’s roles (Board Member/Alternate/Wait-list) and send requests for color and venue choices.  We desperately hope it won’t happen, but please contact us directly if you need to cancel within the three week window since after this point we have the added complexity of changing colors, venues, and/or possibly teammates.

Venues/Color Choices:

For each of the five GSR teams, there’ll be one couple picking your team’s color, and the other couple picking your venue.  We have randomly assigned which couple is picking the color and which couple is picking the venue for your team.

We will send out an email to all of the Board Members asking for your venue/color choices.  We request that you send your choices back to us in 48 hours so that we can distribute the information.  This is especially important if you’re picking the color, since people may need to coordinate outfits.  Your team colors are how the potential new members will be finding you in the bar, so please lean into the color as much as you can, and dress to impress!  Obviously, some of the venues are upscale and costumes would look ridiculous, but we have full faith in our membership’s ability to rock a theme as simple as a single color. Everyone on your team should make an obvious effort to dress in your team color.

Just as much as we are deciphering the allure of the potential new couples, they’re also trying to get a read on us to make sure the reputation of our group precedes us appropriately.  The newbie couples have been instructed to “dress for a sexy date!” and the directions for our members are just the same.  We ask that you put forth the effort that would be expected of an enthralling first date that you’re super excited to attend.

Gentlemen, bring your A+ game.  Basic ‘A’ is for anybody.  We’re better than that.  Show up in your team’s color with your most debonaire style.  Admittedly, a tie might be a bit stuffy (but if you want to, by all means, feel free…), but everything else is fair game: sharp new shirt? shave & a haircut?  stylish jacket, possibly? Essentially, assume you’re on a GQ casting call.  You only get one chance to make a first impression, and you’re about to make 10 of them in 4 hours.  [To be clear: ballcaps, flip-flops and/or t-shirts are not appropriate for this event.  We do expect you to be dressed well, and represent the GSR as the strikingly hot group that it is.]

Ladies, we don’t need to write anywhere near as much as the guys here since you typically know what you’re doing, but just in case you need a tiny bit of guidance… Even though the event starts in the daytime, nighttime dresses and heels are totally appropriate.  Go as risqué as you feel you can get away with in a nightclub.  You’ll have your table at your specific venue for the whole event and the newbies are the ones that have to do all the traveling, so go ahead and take those “bedroom only” heels out for a short walk and show them off!

If you are the couple picking the venue, your job is far simpler.  Please just make sure that you can secure a table for eight people at the location of your choice.  These have all been chosen for their proximity to each other, their atmosphere, and their opening hours.  If I’ve missed any good options, please let me know, but hopefully this is a pretty solid list to choose from.  (Keep in mind, many of the ladies in the newbie couples, as well as our own, may be wearing heels, so walking distance is a major factor.)  Depending on the location, you may want to make a reservation.  The list of venue options is below along with a brief description and some tips for each in case you may have not been before:

Venue choice list:

  • Neat – Underground bourbon/whisky bar.  Dark and sexy atmosphere.  Seating can be a challenge sometimes.  Members recommend heading straight to the back left corner and grabbing some benches against the wall with ottomans for the potential new members.  Likely the most expensive on the list.

  • Ink’n’Ivy (2nd Fl) – Great restaurant with good drinks and options.  The first floor gets a bit busy and can be tough to get a table for 8.  Plan on a second floor table where there are many more options.  (Potential new members will be told to come to the 2nd floor in advance.)

  • Sip – Rooftop bar with many large U-shaped sectional couches with enough room for 8.  Some areas are covered, but weather can play an issue here.  Be prepared to change tables if you don’t get a good spot when you first walk in, then snipe your ideal spot as soon as you see someone leave.  The long tables by the parking garage side work just fine if you need an interim seat.

  • Cantina 76 – Easiest proximity, easy to be spotted in, best margaritas on the list, hands down.  Reasonably casual vibe.  Members recommend getting a table for 8 people instead of the high-tops by the bar, where chatting can be challenging.

  • Sharkey’s – They serve alcohol here.

  • WXYZ – Bar in the Aloft hotel.  Great little spot and is typically rather empty.  Nice little balcony when the weather is nice.  There are some great couch/ottoman options for 8 people here, and if you get there on the right day, you may also be able to borrow a puppy from the reception desk. (Not a joke; it’s an SPCA partnership with the hotel.) If it’s too quiet/empty, ask the bartender to put on background music.

  • City Tavern – A lovable shithole.  College bar atmosphere with slushie machines, beer posters, and the cheap drinks.  Definitely not fancy, but there’s a charm to its trashiness. Decently loud music and other excitable patrons help provide cover for any naughty conversations.  Seating can be a bit tricky and you may have to push some tables together.

  • Coffee Underground – Definitely a private atmosphere and a quaint little spot overall.  Their published drink menu appears limited, but they often have more than what’s listed.  Also a great choice if you’d like to swap ethanol for caffeine for a round or two.

  • Cowboy Up – [Be the first members to try this spot and let us know!  We’ve never been!]

  • Rey’s – Ah, Greenville’s longest running “meat market.”  For those of you that know it, Rey’s is a very popular nightlife spot for early 20-somethings and the service industry crowd.  Our event is quite early for Rey’s, so it should be decently low key while we’re there, before getting wild later at night.  Full bar with a couple of good seating options.

Schedule:

4:00 – Quick group huddle for all of us before heading to our respective venues.  We’ll have a quick hello and we’ll pass out the final ballots with the names of who you’ll be meeting and when.  (With the large number of people we’ll be meeting, ballots will be crucial for this event.)  Since we’re all going to roughly the same area, we’ll plan on meeting on the top deck of the Richardson Street Parking Garage (66 Richardson St, Greenville, SC 29601).  Please be prompt.  Given the logistical complexity around this event, “fashionably late” is not en vogue.

After our kickoff, we’ll all head to our respective venues and grab our tables for eight people.

4:30 – First Newbies arrive – The potential new couples will each be assigned an individualized pub crawl map so that they make it to every venue once, and with different potential newbies each time (where possible).  Each round will have two potential new couples for you to meet, and the new couples will be mixed up as best as possible so that they’re meeting an entirely new panel of people at each stop.  There will be some slight overlap for some of the couples towards the end of the event.

8:30 – GSR Dinner @ The Rabbit Hole [Optional] – See below.

9:30 – Afterparty @ The Rabbit Hole – Our normal afterparty invite selection process will apply, but just in case you aren’t familiar with it, after the event I will be asking each GSR member couple to pick their one, absolute favorite couple from the M&G.  (Please circle their names clearly on your ballot and only pick one.)  The favorite couples will be given the location of the afterparty if they would like to attend.  Please do not extend any afterparty invites directly to any potential new members.  We will take care of notifying them.  And though I’d imagine we’ll all have had plenty of opportunity to day drink, the afterparty is BYOB, so you may want to pack a small cooler if you plan to keep going on into the evening.

Ballots/Voting:

At our starting group huddle, you will be given a ballot with the names of each potential new member that is attending the pub crawl, and what time they will be coming to your location.  Use the ballot sheet to take notes on each couple between the rounds, and be as descriptive as possible. Don’t hesitate to be judgy!  That’s what this process is for!  Key things to look for are making sure that the couples are both on the same page about the lifestyle (meaning: Are they both excited to be there?), that they’re easy to talk to and friendly, and overall if you think they’d make a great addition to our group.  Attractiveness, classiness, and sex appeal is certainly allowed to influence your decision, and there’s no shame in having that be a factor.  Fill out the ballot only for yourselves and not what you think other people would like.  After making some notes, check the box as to whether or not they get a ‘yes’, ‘no’, or ‘maybe’ vote as to whether or not they get in the group, and then at the end of the event, circle the name of the one couple that is your absolute favorite from the event to get an invite back to the afterparty.

Ballots will be collected at the end of the event back on the top of the parking garage.  It is very important that you come back and turn in these ballots promptly after you are done.  We need your afterparty invite so that we can notify the potential couples as quickly as possible, and also to do a quick check of the vote counts.  (While it is rare, if a potential new couple is selected for an afterparty invite but there are a substantial number of ‘no’ votes for their admission into the group, we may opt to not extend the afterparty invite to them.)

Potential new members are typically notified of formal admission into the group Sunday afternoon or Monday morning, so if you need to edit a vote, we can make changes later in the evening.

Example Ballot:

GSR Dinner:

Everyone is welcome to break away for dinner on your own, make plans to grab something with other members, or pick up takeout and come back to the Rabbit Hole while we wait for the potential new members to show up later.  Please try to make it back before the potential new members get here at 9:30pm.

The Afterparty:

The Afterparty will be held at The Rabbit Hole.  All GSR Board Members and Alternates are invited to join the afterparty, but only a select few of the potential new members will get an invite back.  I will collect everyone’s feedback for which potential new members get an Afterparty invite and notify them of the address and time.  Again, please do not extend any invites to the Afterparty directly to a potential new member, we will take care of it for you.

Please let me know if you have any questions and we simply cannot wait to party with you guys!!  Thank you all in advance for volunteering your time to help shape the Swap Rabbits into the best lifestyle group around.  We couldn’t do it without you!

Best wishes,

Dustin & Hailey
